Silicone Moulding

Quality suppliers of silicone products across New Zealand

Silicone, silicone rubber and silicone moulding
At Siltech Industries, we specialize in custom-made silicone products for a variety of industries. Silicone rubber is a synthetic compound that offers high working temperatures and excellent hygienic properties. Our silicone rubber products are available in a hardness range from 10° ShoreA to 80° ShoreA. We offer Silicone components by fabrication, casting or compression moulding, as one-off or short-run projects, or in larger production runs.

Silicone rubber molding and silicone rubber fabrications are custom-made to your requirements:

We Specialise in Silicone non-stick coatings and seals, silicone mouldings and silicone gaskets for food processing, water, scientific and medical applications.
Silicone casting:
FDA compliant material is available for casting special one-off seals, with no size restrictions(large or small). Suitable for very soft items.
Silicone moulding:
Compression molding is suitable for larger production runs and for hard silicone products.

Benefits of silicone rubber:

Hygienic and food approved:
Silicone rubber is hygienic and frequently used in food processing and food manufacturing equipment, as well as the water industry. Siltech Industries will certify compliance with US FDA and USDA-3A sanitary standards where appropriate: our products are of food grade silicone.
High temperature resistance:
Silicone rubber will withstand about 200°C continuously (and higher temperature intermittently) and is used in many sealing situations involving heat, e.g. food manufacturing and processing. Silicone also remains flexible at below freezing temperatures, where most other elastomers would become brittle and crack.
Hardness or softness:
Components can be made as hard as 80 ShoreA, or as soft as 10 ShoreA, which is very soft and pliable but has much more integrity than foam. Soft silicon makes excellent seals for fragile casings and where irregular tolerances have to be taken up. Silicone products can also be made with any ShoreA hardness between these two extremes. Silicone gels are available for supporting and encapsulating electronic equipment, and for spark arresting. Siltech Industries uses silicone in all its forms.
Flexibility:
Flexible transitions can be made of silicone, for example between a hopper and filling machine. Some cast transition walls are 10mm thick and smaller items like load cell boats are fabricated. Mould cavities are easy to flex for de-moulding products.
Physical properties:
Most food compounds, and many other compounds, will not stick to silicone. Silicone has good ozone and UV resistance; is resistant to many chemicals; and is fairly tough.
